Would you like to have this Block Function Available?

Over the last week there has been many discussions regarding a full block feature. At present the block function just blocks the member from whispering you or you can block certain types from sending you a message (males, females or couples). It would be great if you could also just block a profile from contacting you, viewing your profile and not being able to view your cam. Admin's current stand on this request is they do not want to do it. Would you like to have this block function available?
We can see why our revered management would have some qualms about this, but really the only people effected by this are the parties concerned. Keeping our long term members happy by allowing them to block unwanted attention, might be the difference between losing them and keeping them. We do value our ability to talk to the people we want to talk to, and not the people we don't, so should someone become a nuisance we would support the right of any member to block the aggressor.smile
we would be happy with a feature that would allow us to block certain people seeing our cam(ie all on our block list) or even have the ability to have our cam public or private in the main rooms. private meaning people would need to request to see your cam, public is as it sounds 2Bnorti's
Fully support this request, it has been raised by a number of active members over an extended period. Given this I would struggle to understand why this would not be one of the items scheduled for deployment in the next release. I'm interested to understand why Admin is so reluctant to meet this request?
id like the block to be on cams, whispers and profiles. not sure about a total block just a cetain profile block or the ability to select what you want blocked from people. but on the other side a total whisper block will creat massive traffic in the room. all the seagulls going off in there. just my 1 cent worth,
I actually think this would be an excellent option having been in situations where people do not take no as no on several occasions l do find it very uncomfortable as some people react with a very unpleasant response. I personally do not feel that anyone should have abusive natures and personal attacks inflicted upon them in any chat environment. Personally swingers need to lift their game and protect all on their site paid or unpaid from unnecessary mannerisms. On the cam viewing note l have stopped running my cam in chat for the very reason you mention as anything l do on this site should be my option not controlled by someone sitting behind their keyboard making this decisions for me. So l vote yes a block button is an excellent direction for swingers heaven to pursue as soo many other sites do it to create a more safe environment for their supporters.
Funny how we dont see the single guys commenting here. I think the reason they wont is because the ppl who pay the money to join here are mostly single guys and they will be the ones blocked, and will go elsewhere so can understand admin from that angle
i was actually going to suggest this last night. we would also like to block all those in our blocked list from viewing our cam. Its a big YES from us. If the Admins don't do this i think they will risk losing a lot of paying couples and the site will be just full of single people. I have already noticed a drop in cams in the last few weeks...i think most of the ladies are just sick of it and i don't blame them.
i agree some people are so rude when rejected. it makes you wonder what goes on in thier mind. i have been abused a few times. most of the time its couples. single men can be rude but i find most nice
I was in chat yesterday and tried to join in on the conversation and more or less got told to STFU by one of the girls on here. and i call her a girl because the maturity level on this one was unbelievable. So no its not just the single males its also some of the single woman. Some of the couples are very bad to. there are some very pushy people out there who think that people cam on this site for them when they should understand that a cammer gets on cam for his or her own fun not to please the hordes of horny keyboard warriors out there

I can understand your concern but can only comment as a single female and regretfully there are people like this on here and other sites but atleast on other sites we can block them from continuing this form of unwarranted behavior. I hope you come back to the chatroom as there are some lovely people and lm sure you would be most welcome to join the conversation.
As a guy i would say this is a stupid idea......but seriously i would not see how anyone who is a sincere and respectful would have problem with this as an option, if your going to act like a tool people should have the ability to block you totally, if your going to be gentleman (of sorts) then really you should not have an issue. People are here by choice of lifestyle not because they are desperate for sex. I say sort the wheat from the chaff......
We would greatly appciate a block feature! After some really unfriendly encounters whilst camming last night where some people just refused to get the hint... We were having a wonderful and sexually charged time chatting and camming with some of the beautiful respectful people that frequent SH but that was over shadowed by some extremely blunt and relentless others that just would leave us alone.. Other sites of a similar nature have a block feature that ensures zero contact or visibility for profiles and cams once activated. This would take away the negative element that turns us off when constantly pestered with demands, plain rude and stupid comments.. Personally as the male half of the couple I hadn't encountered much of it until last night when my gorgeous lady was with me and as much as she was enjoying herself she was very turned off by the constant badgering. It was then quite a bit of a downer when we couldn't take a step back and make ourselves completely invisible to the culprits and continue with the lovely people who interested us Yes we did end making a private room butthe feeling of being within the sex positive community was lost and we love that social aspect of this site.... Pease create us a block feature so that we can ignore the creatures that a site like this naturally attracts. These people aren't part of the community they are simply trolls and keyboard warriors that belong trolling porn sites instead of our beloved SH. They don't bring anything positive to the table and if we had the option to silence them there is a good chance they wouldn't stick around and be pests. We're not pin pointing any specific gender or profile type regardless of if they're a man, woman, TS or couple we'd feel much more at home if we could disconnect with those who exhibit traits detrimental to the ideals of why we're actually here
I do think it is a good idea myself to have a block button for people you don't want to see your cam and/or profile. I have been harassed by other male to get my junk out on cam and they pretty much wouldn't stop until i left the chat room. what people need to realize this is real world. we choose to get on cam and we choose to put public pictures in our profiles.
Fully support it. If someone wants to block it should be their perogative. If someone wants to block me then so be it.... wouldn't bother me in the slightest.

Agree what Baabaa5 said ^^^^^
the block button thats already there could be extended to cover cam access but i do know the cams are a different server to the chat. thats why some times theres lag between the two. this may be an issue as to why it cant or hasnt happened. still weve had less abuse here than another site we were on and the perpetrators were delt with swiftly by the mods. if it were to happen id like it profile based not gender/group based, i think this is just too broad. sure people dont like single men, single women, cd, tv bbw/bbm, old , young and some dont like couples. this still doesnt mean they are all bad. the most abusive weve had is couples but we dont want to block the group, just the bad ones.

Well said
When this was a free site it was fine to have basic features like this overlooked. I get that the site is run by hobbyists, but now that it's a pay site if the hobbyists can't deliver then they need to use some of the members fees to hire a developer who can.

Couldn't have said it better
The way I understand Greedy's poll, the block would be for individuals, not gender specific. This would be the ideal block, as that way you are only blocking access to idiots who piss you off, not every one else who happens to be single male, female, or couple. If it's done right, I can only see the people who get upset being the one's who cause all the grief to cammers anyway. Let's hope admin start listening to what the members are saying. Anyway, A big Yes is our vote.

Spot on Franks, it would be a specific block on a profile, not a gender or group. The current selection of blocking a gender is too broad as it's unfair to tar a specific gender with being partially banned. This current block only blocks you from their search.
Thanks for everyone for your input and votes so far.
With the voting going at 30 for and 1 against, its fair to say that the members have spoken! I tried to get this going roughly a year ago and instead of running a poll, i created a group called something like "a group to get a complete block button created" but lo and behold it was was not approved by either mods or admin as i was told that it would basically create disharmony. As was touched on in an earlier post, now that this site is no longer a free site, admin needs to start listening to their members and give them what they want. I used to love camming on here and hardly do it anymore because of some of the bullshit that goes on through whispers and the like. As the mods say, "just report them"......sorry i came on here to have some fun and not act as a police officer (although i have a costume lol)....the easiest thing to do would simply block someone so they cant whisper, message, look at my profile with pics (which i have a few of) and most importantly be able to have the pleasure of viewing me while im on cam. To me that seems the simplest AND smartest option, but i wont hold my breath. Ms Squirts xxx
I also support a block button to prevent individuals from accessing one's cam if their behaviour is unwarranted. Although as an iPad chatter I can no longer cam, I do know from my use of another site on another computer in the past that the block button can be a useful feature to completely remove certain individuals indefinitely. However, one option that has not yet been fully explored in this discussion is that the block may be temporary - I might be chatting to several different chatters but be at different stages of intimacy with them. The option to disallow Johnny-newcomer from seeing my cam whilst I'm camming with OldGalPal doesn't mean I will never contact Johnny ever again - it just means that even though he may be a lovely bloke, at the moment it's not feeling right. I'd like to be able to continue to chat, but only allow certain members to see me, with the option of adding others in at another time eg after getting to know them - or perhaps when I am having a good hair day or whatever. So blocking is not always punitive or exclusionary - it's about having choice, so that I do what I want with whom I want when I want - and it's quite possible that no two days will ever be the same.
Yes block would be great I think
Yes would definitely love a block function especially for camming. I've clicked my cam off before if I'm being viewed by someone I don't want watching, for various reasons. Every member should feel comfortable in the room, chatting or camming so it's a big YES for me smile
not that I currently have anyone I would block - but I have had in the past.
I have asked admin about the availability of this feature previously. I would like to see the cams being available on an "ask and allow" basis.... that is, that if someone wants to view your cam, they need to request to view, so that the person on cam has control of who is seeing them. It's not right that people have been blocked for whatever reason, but they can still watch your cam & comment publicly. Thanks Greedy for bringing up this issue here. mrs a
adding my clicky finger to the yes column. I would start camming again if I could block the asshats
Hey All, The reason we have not considered adding a block button at the moment is the making it work part, The chatroom would need a rebuild and a lot of the functions on the site would also need redoing, when the new framework is finished (which will be in about a months time) we can access if its feasible and what time constraints would be involved.
