am wondering just when the site admin decided to become big brother and our personal protector by censoring the messages of paid members and preventing their delivery ,,,,,cant imagine the uproar if Australia post or the Royal mail took it upon themselves to decide who got mail and who didn't ...
I can understand new or unpaid members being unable to contact existing members ,,,after all unpaid contributes nothing towards the running costs or profits of sites such as this ,,,however,,,, those us who are paid up or long term members surely have the right ,,,thru their very membership, to make contact with anyone they wish ??? is this not a site designed to facilitate the meeting of like minded folk??? are those who have newly joined , whether paid or unpaid, not like minded ?? are we all not adults , with the ability to decide for ourselves, whether or not we will reply to a message received regardless of whatever that message may contain ??
I have read much on so called timewasters , and how many site members despise this ,,,how much of our members time has been wasted, inadvertently or not , by the sheer fact that messages written ,,many of which I assume take much time in the thought and writing of , are simply not being delivered ,,,,despite messaging being part of a service that we all pay good money for !!
To be preventing messages in the first place, even if it is the belief of "protecting " us , which I can assure you is a mistaken belief, begins to show signs reminiscent of many dictatorial states ,,,,kind of anathemic to those who believe themselves to be open minded and/or free spirited
having said all this ,,,I do still love this site and its myriad of members ,,,,
It's not the paying community that made this site, 80000 members joined before the extras was changed tp payable.... It was roughly a year later, that premium became the main area, the change happened recently, ie the full no nothing by new members, a few months back, they could still reply to emails and do comments.
As for emails, they arnt being stopped, unless considered spam, buy the service. Newer members just can't reply, as for emails being taken out, that's new to my self, and will try and get answers. On all of the above,
And yes the site is about money to a degree. Cams cost the company in bandwidth, as it also costs members on their account at home. We have been a high demand site, since chat started. I will make one last suggestion, take it to support tickets. Is your best bet.
Admin run many sites and don't sit on the ste reading all the forum.
As for my self, I will keep personal thoughts to my self, admin know what I think of this.
Multiple support tickets have been lodged! Complaints made in both that area and in here. Admin has to realise how much of a hindrance this is to PAYING members.
Seriously, the site was free so it could get 100,000 members and receive it's Google ranking and kickbacks. Hence why Admin is reluctant to delete inactive accounts so it keeps their membership numbers up.
I'm happy to pay but I'm not happy about having things taken off me. There is nothing in the AUP nor have I ever received an email from Admin asking my permission to hinder my ability to receive a reply from non-paying members. Don't forget this was a right we once had.
Also neither Admin or Mods have any right to tamper with my private messages if I choose to send someone a message with my contact details. These messages are private for a reason.
If Admin run many sites then maybe they need to concentrate on this one and keep their members happy.
In the next Mod meeting my suggestion would be to bring this to Admin's attention and let them know how the member's feel.
And just for the record I'll gladly put in a support ticket for this. Hopefully it gets to Admin and is not considered spam and deleted!
For every person that reads this post please put in a support ticket.
Hey All,
I've read all of your message, tickets and posts, and have passed them onto admin, i will get him to send you all an official reply within the next 48 hours as although i am an admin he is the decision maker.
My understanding on the messages being removed was because the system was being abused but as with all things on this site it was just on a trial basis.
Sarah
Personally, I'd rather the restriction wasn't in place, over the course of time we have tried many things to see how they work out and to see what impact it makes on the site, user experience is very on our list of priorities and I believe that this is one change that is detrimental to that, we will be reinstating the ability for non-premium members to reply to up to 3 messages per day from other members on the 1st July, the stripper will also be removed, we will however need to monitor reports to ensure that no abuse of it takes place.
Thanks for the feedback and letting us know how you feel.
