Opinion on the new forums layout

Just want to know what others think about the new format/layout of the forums.

Personally I find the new layout a bit confusing and a bit complicated to follow.

I hate and despise it. Takes forever to scroll through, difficult to see which threads have been added to. A lot more difficult to 'mark threads read', and it's still clunky to go from place to place

Agree with Haidee and would add that a forum should be easy to navigate whereas these changes are ridiculously cumbersome as one must scroll through plus the option to mark all as read is now hidden whereas it should be a button. All is much harder to use and really there is no logical flow.

All up, this is not progress in any way, shape or form and is a retrograde step as far as forums go.

the ability to glance at a forum subject in newest comments first leaves me wondering how this is seen as an improvement..take that the new site overrides your phone spell checker and im left wondering

Also agree with above, I don't mind change if it is an improvement but it takes me longer to browse the forums than it used to.

There was nothing wrong with the old format!  Or was there?

I find the old format was simple and user friendly. For example I could easily find out if my message was read or not in the old webpage. In the current format its is a big struggle to figure it out. Any change is good only if there are additional benefits to users.

No positive comments so far. Do they beta test these changes first? Probably not. Spell checker is one of the worst I've seen. Overall the site is confusing and difficult to use. It was pretty good a few months ago before the most recent changes. For example the forum headings could be seen on one page now you need to scroll down to see them all. Why change something that already works? Needs a major overhaul or go back to the way it was.

Barry, it wa in Beta for a long time. Apparently it either worked better in testing, all the testers lied, or they really don't give a shit. Your call

Older version more user friendly, not a fan of this new version at all.

Will come back to see if it has been changed back to the older version in a month or so.

Definitely prefer the previous one.

It does appear that most changes that have been made lately have not been for the better.

Some really simple changes might really help - eg Why display the most recent posts at the bottom of the list ?
