I actually like the venue, it is quite nice. And I can 't complain about the $350 price for the guys, it is deliberatly high so that it doesn't end like a sausage fest. If you want that, head to Shed 16 in Seaford. Apparently couples were feeling uncomfortable when there were many single men, and I can understand why. I have been to parties where I have felt hunted and 'under fire' by some of the single men. WOW on couples night is for couples. It is handy to have an extra penis around, but not a whole forest of them, waving in your face so you can't find the extra vagina you've been looking for.

I've never agreed with the ridiculous price tag for single males to attend any venue. It's all about the venue sticking to their rules and limiting the numbers through their own management, not the cost.
The first 5 to book and pay (in advance) will be granted entry - simple! When you charge $350 their is a level of expectation from the men who are expecting something for their money. As a female I don't appreciate being used as bait.
Luzy - why would the men need a tax invoice? It's an entertainment expense and that's non-deductible and you can't claim the GST portion.

Anyone who has been to WOW will know that it is an AWESOME venue. Possibly one of the best in Melbourne in terms of the facilities. We are very grateful that once a month they are kind enough to have a night for couples rather than barring the doors to us and keeping it a gay venue only.
We have had our gripes in the past about the number of single males they allow (we don't believe the "5 single males" line at all, and we're not sure if they really do charge $350 or if that's just a line to trick couples into thinking the number of single men will be low).
BUT... can everyone please keep any criticism [u:6f1be19787]constructive[/u:6f1be19787], rather than bitter and aggressive. We would really love to see WOW have more couples nights (including an occasional weekend - Mondays are difficult!) with better managed gender ratios, but that's not going to happen if they cop nothing but abuse for the once couples night per month that they DO run.

Just once, to try it and see if its commercially viable for them. Widely advertise it, promoting the spectacular facilities. Make sure it doesn't clash with any other big events like S&S. The thing is ... they do charge $350 for a single male to get in, no one is holding a gun to anyones head forcing them to attend, they do so of their choice, knowing full well how much it costs for entry, if men are willing to pay that amount, then so be it, that's their choice as an adult to do so.
PS WOW is a registered business with a SOP (sex-on-premises) licence, something a lot of other swingers clubs and parties don't have ... just sayin ...
Oh gee. From a couple perspective there are so many parties out there that claim that they are predominantly a couple party and end up being a huge sausage fest! As for WOW, there are have been times in the past where it has been inundated with singles but since MelbSwingers have taken over the party and imposed the $350 per single guy there seems to be much more couples instead of the single guys trying to run the mill.
MelbSwingers is a legit business so threatening ATO or other discrimination stuff when the party has been setup for couples is not discrimination but a deterant for single guys by charging $350 with no guarantees of getting lucky. So if a single guy is dumb enough to fork out that sort of money when he could go to a brothel, spend the same amount or even get change for a one hour booking with a lady of his choice... That's his prerogative!
Well we've said or piece but everyone is entitled to an opinion.

We agree. Having been there twice (November 2013) and last night (Feb 17 2014), we know first hand that their stated single male policy is simply not adhered to. Our first visit (which was our second foray into the swinging scene after attending a house party a month earlier) ended up very nicely after a slow start, especially because of the number of single males. Anna ended up in a lovely 3 way with 2 other women while the male partners happily stood back and watched.
But last night was a whole different story, and unfortunately will mean that we won't return unless there is a major change to the way it is run. Anna had to repeatedly ask guys to stop groping her when we were wandering through the corridors upstairs. Upon entering one of the rooms on our own (with the door left open to see who might want to join) we had to, at least on 4 occasions, say no to a single guy who entered and started touching without asking first.
The Management told us at the end of the night that there were only 6 single males in attendance. We counted at least 14, and there were not the corresponding number of single females anywhere else in the venue, unless the partners of these single guys all paired up and were playing behind closed doors (unlikely). One single guy we spoke to said he got in for free because he was a regular (which may of course not be true).
We really do like the venue, and we would love to see a true couples only night held there, but until that happens we won't be going back :sad:

we really enjoy the facilities at wow
the theme of sorts is very inviting and the steam room so impressive we are building one in our basement , we usually arrange to meet a couple there , we might be old fuddies but we like to know who we play with , the random thing just isnt us but even if we havent arranged a meet once a month is a great escape for us.
The management have dropped the ball as far as couples go across there venues, but i am totally aware of the economic realities and dont hold that against them I just wish they had the balls to come out and say it I dont think too many would not take that into consideration.
We used to choose the couples only nights at attunga that way we avoid any meerkat issues , our choice and our control over our own outcomes , that problems at the venues is that couples have lost the ability to control their own outcomes and the venues are misrepresenting the events and clientele, further undermining a couples choice and feelings of safety ect .
Only a small proportion of swinging couples are gang bangers or cockold or random fuck participants the internet porn projects swingers in this negative light for the couples but a real turn on and excitement for single guys who feel they can provide the ladies needs.
We need a venue that doesnt rely on couples as its base income or as its cream income it needs to set aside a day maybe once a month for couples and thats what these venues do , they just need to stick with the couples thing for the one night honestly and many folks would feel comfortable and safe . Save the cashing in thats what wow attunga baycity shed say they are doing its appreaciated but dishonesty and false representations are never received well.
I am not sure any amount of complaining, forum discussion , will change the realities of the management so please just tell us like it is so we can choose.
we too have had both the staff tell us the extra guys are friends of the owners and guys tell us they are friends of the staff not paying single men , this way they can falsify the lists and make statements that are obviously false to this forum and some hoe feel correct.
We have stood at reception paying and had single guy try to come in with us as our invited guest when we have never seen him before , we have also seen the cash handed over these are facts we are happy to tell the good and the bad based on our personal first hand experiences.

We would have loved to try WOW at least once, but with two young children, school and work the next day, a Monday night is just not an option for us.
We used to frequent Attunga almost every Sat night, up to the renovations of July 2013, and really used to enjoy the vibe. It became more of a social for us, and we looked forward to meeting the regulars, having a chat, and perhaps a play if we met the right couple. There was always such a nice mood in the place, but that changed after the renovations and new managements policy of letting up to 40/50 "single" guys into the venue. We went back twice after the renovations and never again. It was just not pleasant being followed to the toilets and groped solicited in the passageways.
Sad to hear that similar things are happening at WOW.
We have noticed, during our visits to Attunga ( and we are assuming something similar is happening at WOW), that a couple would arrive at the venue and then immediately split up, the woman sitting at the bar whilst her male "partner" went on the "hunt" effectively becoming a "meerkat". It was established that this happened a lot and was common practice. I guy met a random woman, and invited her to Attunga just as a way to get in, on a couples only night. Perhaps the same is happening at WOW ?
We are concerned at the high number of supposedly "single" males that have, in our opinion, hijacked the "swinging" scene. Was swinging not originally all about "wife swapping" ? Something that happens between couples ? Just why are there now such a high number of "single" males in on the scene? Are these married guys who are not getting enough at home, or are they guys who are unable to find girlfriends / wives of their own and so and try to get in on the action, and into the panties of other guy's wives / partners?
Sadly many of them have no manners and very little respect for the scene, nor for the women / couples who are trying to enjoy it, and they soon become "sex pests", groping and stalking and directing and soliciting...... and to be honest its not a pleasant experience for us when this happens, and it's just become too risky to go to clubs like Attunga as the chances of this happening have become too high.
We have been to 3 private parties in total, all during the course of 2013, and there were no problems at all with single guys, as they only allowed couples in, and those couples all played together and did not split up.
Perhaps the clubs should introduce a rule that both members of the couple need to play and that they are to be together in the same room during the play ? We think that Femme Fantasy in the Western Suburbs has such a rule, but we cant confirm that as we have not been there.
But it would be great if there could be a "safe" venue where couples could have fun without the stress of having to look over their shoulders for the next feral male that is going to jump out of the shadows and have a quick grope.

Perhaps there should be some kind of "register / data base" that requires that all participants produce ID and that these details are logged onto the system, and that if people dont abide by the rules, its logged onto the system. The database needs to be connected to all the venues, so that should they be kicked out of one venue, and pitch up at the next, at least management would know their "history" ? But perhaps such a database would put off the would be "meerkats" and result in less of an income for the management?
The only way that we, the couples, are going to get management to listen to our complaints, is if we vote with our wallets, put in a complaint and then don't return to the venues until things are changed ?
From what we understand of the law, when it comes to "sex on premises" permits etc, management has a duty of care to ensure that the paying couples are not harassed or intimidated in any manner. Perhaps it is just going to take a complaint to the relevant registering authorities for management to wake up ? But then we suppose they may say that they will simply revert to the venues being gay venues only ? And as such they have us all by the short n curlies ?
