I am a pre-op M2F transsexual (trans-gender female). I am now two years into my medical gender reassignment program with hormone replacement therapy and am currently planning a trip to Thailand for gender reassignment surgery which will complete my permanent transition to female. 

Some folks may find it hard to understand why someone would have a sex change. May I just say that this is a recognized medical / psychological condition known as Gender Identity Disorder or 'GID' and that I can personally testify that the agony of living in the wrong gender body is excruciating. One feels that life has passed them by without ever having tasted the sweet things in life such as finding true love, healthy enjoyable sex or a partner who understands you. The sadness is overwhelming and becomes a gnawing pain that never goes away and eventually consumes your soul. Now do you understand? 

Most of the transsexuals I've met are highly intelligent and highly motivated individuals who have suffered in silence for years, putting the needs of others before their own and yet when they begin to correct the travesty of justice that is their gender variance, they meet with ridicule, intolerance and prejudice. In fact, some of the sweetest and most courageous people I've ever met are among my trans-gendered brothers and sisters and I'm no longer afraid to express who I am either.
