should profiles that haven't been used for 90+ days be deleted? we often do quick searchs and we are beginning to get sick of seeing last online more the 90 days ago
YES YES YES we do the same
no doubt most of the over 90 days profiles are non-paying members but it makes the site look popular if new-comers see 175000 members and think its a very popular site and worth paying to join as the odds of meeting up are very good - the few hundred active members may beg to differ.
Think 90 days is a bit short to delete pofiles that hav not been used , but there could be valid reason as to why . 12 months no activity then the profile should be automaticly deleted or a message sent to the member that the profile will automaticly be deleted if not logged into within x number of days Melbcpl01
An option to filter them out of search results would be good, or be able to search on a specific number of days like active within the last 20 or something would be good
Asking admin for additional functionality? Seriously? BAHAHAHAHA :giggle:

Agreed
This very matter has been discussed over many threads in recent times. Another suggestion previously made was that in the search options, we should have the opportunity to tick a box that eliminates any profiles that are absent 90 days or more from the search result. At least that way we'll have more than one or two profiles to look at on each page of results. We too consider it fraudulent to leave long abandoned profiles on the site in an effort to bolster the apparent membership numbers, thus attracting unsuspecting new paying members. That said, there are still many genuine members on here with intention to play, but cleaning the membership up a bit would definitely help us all find what we're after more easily.
Just a couple of points... Every similar site is slow in culling inactive members. SH is not unique in this, and it's not likely to change. However, the search results screen does have an option to order the results by their last online date. Do that and then you can browse the pages of results until the last online dates get beyond what you're willing to accept. Forget 90 days - we don't bother messaging anyone absent for more than 2 weeks. A large number of inactive users may be misleading, but we don't think its difficult to live with.

However you are only permited on filter at a time. If you would like to order your search by "recently online" you are unable to use "closest to me"
Thanks Tempted...and we wholeheartedly agree with azeasy. The distance to me filter is critical. No use for a time poor NSW couple having to wade through profiles from WA.
But in the search criteria you can select a distance to search within. So you can select a distance that you're happy to travel to, run the search, and then order by last online. Maybe not exactly what you're after, but certainly not the worst of the problems around here.
So because we have breaks and don't chase sex with strangers all the time our profile should be deleted? Why? A better filtering system would be a better idea. Deleting profiles just won't work as we know couples who come on once a year to pick up for a special occasion.
i agree with twonewbies in my small town nothing happens as so few members here, plus hardly any member mentions there coming our way specially on holidays. also its good to have a break, at least you can get other things done. but thats my opinion
agree with ultra i'm still suprised that the other account i had when i was a moderator a couple of years ago is still there, i did ask admin when i quit being a mod to delete the account. but during the time i spend away from here, i do check up on things in forum---personals and search to see if there is anything interesting or maybe some locals that may have joined,
If a profile is a few years old and empty then yes. But for the last 14months we haven't had 5 minutes to log on. With 3deaths in the family, a house burning down, moving house, a birth, building a hot rod and both with new jobs that aren't 9to5 time and energy just runs out. As for sending a message on here about closing the account that won't work because if you don't log in you don't get it. I believe better filtering is the way to go. It won't matter how many dead profiles there are.

Here is an idea only let members have access to the forum, personals and gallery. This would stop the informal browsing and give a better insight of true numbers.
