Impressing your partner

Hi all, We're wondering what other couples do to occasionally (or regularly?) impress their partner, particularly if you have been in a relationship for a long time. When you are first going out with someone everyone wants to go out of their way to do nice things for their new partner, but longer term things can sometimes get taken for granted. So what do you do to show some of that original enthusiasm? Do you buy your partner impromptu gifts? Surprise them with oral sex when they least expect it? Do you try to make yourself a better person because your partner deserves someone great? And from the other side - what would you want your partner to do to make you feel desirable and appreciated? Also, how does swinging fit into this picture? Do you spoil your partner by giving them the "gift" of another person? For us, the buzz of trying to impress a new person/couple helps remind us of the need to keep doing those same things with each other. eg. To dress up nicely and actively tease and flirt with each other when we go out for dinner, rather than just talking about work and upcoming family commitments.
the biggest thing i do is trust her to show my love. on a lesser scale i cook and clean when im home. buy stuff online for her so shes suprised whn the posty has been with swingng i usually let her pick playmates but i do say no some times
G'day TT
What a great Q
Chase up a book called "the 5 love languages"
It's a great book explaining the different ways that people express their love to their lover
For myself & my lover...
- lots of hugs & affirmations of 'i love you'
- flowers occasionally - never red roses, they're passe > just a bunch of flowers to grace the table
- unscheduled evenings at a quiet restaurant where we just eat & talk
It is not easy to have time when both work & children weigh heavily on your weekly timetable
In those years when our children were pre-school & primary school age, we 'connived' with friends for their child to invite ours across for a sleepover - then leaving us alone till lunchtime next day. Was a great way of doing things, as the children thought it was their doing !!
These days, we have foursomes including a meal, thus spending an hour or two together as a group before having adult playtime - sometimes showering together as foreplay > makes a great night out
