Do you find it frustrating that many people sign up, take the effort to write about themselves, even upload a photo for some, yet don't return to their profile after their first or second log in?

I see many profiles that may be say five days old and the most recent time they've logged in is four days ago.

What can be done to retain these new arrivals? To keep them active and interested in the site?

Would also like to see single women offered free membership to encourage more to join to help balance the ratios.

As the site is named 'Swingers Heaven', this ratio is to be expected, but this suggestion would be a great way to improve numbers. If the women of the site were made to feel more valued, like they should be when at a party, the site would surge from strength to strength.

What do you think? Keen to read your thoughts (all welcome) or PM if you prefer.

Removing bogus or inactive profiles would go a long way to improving the site. If a profile was created say a month ago and was last logged in a month ago it would seem to indicate that it is not a real profile. One line descriptions and poor spelling are also a good indication. There is one near me (edited by admin) which says last active never and joined 5 years ago. I don't think she is coming back! Like the guy waiting at the bar for hours waiting for his date to turn up, time to move on. Surely profiles that are inactive for 12 months or more can be hidden to make the site more user friendly.

I tend to agree that profiles that haven't been accessed in several months be completely removed. It serves no benefit to members with profiles not accessed beyond 90 days. This site is user friendly as you can filter profiles according to 'Date Joined'.

I don't totally agree with offering single women free membership. Perhaps offer a free month of membership (allowing them an opportunity to experience the site), but then required to pay like the rest of us once the free membership expires. To help balance the ratios to whose benefit? Unless you believe this is purely a pickup site which it isn't? I am of the opinion that this site is for everyone who wants to catch up with friends, express themselves on cam, make contact with couples and singles etc. If you are just looking to hook up with females then perhaps Tinder or Plenty of Fish (POF) might be a better option.

I just tried to cancel my account and a window popped up saying a verification email has been sent, it hasn't. No wonder people abandon their profiles, I'm about to.

Those emails are auto generated when you click the cancel button. It would be a site glitch if not received and not admin. If you want your profile removed then ask a moderator to advise admin to remove it or click the report profile button on bottom of your homepage and ask admin to remove it in the report.

I agree it is most frustrating doing a search and fine many profiles that "Joined 5 years ago" and show as never been back to the site.
A clean up of the database could be in order.

The beings in charge of Swingers Heaven will NOT remove abandoned profiles, why?  Because it looks as though they have more members when they include all those that are not used.

Admin allowed solo females, a few months back a chance to have full memberships for a month, as long as they verified their account. I will look into this again, and with admins permission, see if we can do this again.

Im afraid, my only suggestion and one i use my self, is not to worry, about sending those that havent been active, in at least 3 months, no message at all. It can be a pain. But this isnt the only place, that wont delete inactive profiles, unless requested or rules broken. But Im sure admin have considered this feedback more then once.

Personally, I'm glad that profiles that haven't been accessed for a few years don't get deleted, as then mine would have been while I had a break to deal with some serious medical issues. I played with numerous men and couples from this site, and am otherwise a genuine site member, so to redo my profile and images would've been annoying for me, and I likely wouldn't have bothered, and gone back to other sites.

Like has been suggested, if you see someone who hasn't been online for x amount of days, it's up to you whether you send a message. Nobody is holding a gun to your head that's for sure.

One way to do it would be profiles that haven't logged in for 12 months are made inactive i.e don't come up in search results. As soon as someone logs in again it goes active. If not logged in for say 5 years then they are deleted. That would seem reasonable?

Great to read the thoughts of the recent comments from members. My original comment related to the number of profiles who sign up, look around but then don't return, obviously not finding what they're looking for. Not for profiles which have been left idle by once active members who, as commented, may have genuine reasons for not being on the site.

I'd agree with this too - except to drop the 5 yrs down to 2 or 3 yrs

PandA

Inactive profiles should be emailed after 3 months and deleted after 4 months inactivity.

the rest I fully agree with

Being new to the site, I've had to get used to the search function being a little limited with regard to time since  last online - it would be good to have something more recent than 30 days as an option, maybe 7 and 14?

I actually don't mind if someone hasn't used a profile in years. Using even last 30 days as a search, I won't see those old profiles anyway (Bbwforyou made a good point along those lines). Old profiles will never be deleted, so if you're looking at and trying to contact those people you're probably barking up the wrong tree!

There always will be people who join to see what it's like and then disappear - I was one of those. I didn't fancy paying whatever it was at the time to become a full member, just to see if the site was worth it. Came back out of curiosity recently, discovered the 10 week special and thought what do I have to lose? Based on my experience so far, I'll be happy to continue paying at the end of that period smile

i understand free users cannot chat or see adult pics in ppls profiles or send messages without paying .this may be why ppl dont come back feel free correct me if i am wrong

Absolutely agree. It wastes an enormous amount of time going through abandoned profiles.

maybe have a function where you may select members that have been only active in the last 6 months or last 6 weeks to filter out the members you are after. i think they keep these tyre kickers on here as they may return and possibly join up which i think is unlikely, also by having defunct members on their list gives them bragging rights , we have 300,000 members , but only 90,000 are currently active . there will always be more men than women as its more natural for men to go searching for sex where most women take it as a day by day thing. i mean any woman can go down to the local pub and pick up a fuck for the night , you can go to the pub every night and get nothing but an empty wallet and a hang over . just the nature of things . its roughly a 10 to 1 ratio of guys and girls on these sites

Agree with most of the comments above re inactive profiles. If a profile has not been accessed in a set time period (maybe 1-3 months) then make it inactive and remove it from the search lists etc. If the user logs back in then it should reset to active, that way if we are away for a while we do not lose everything. Re dodgy and obvious fake profiles - I think the admins do a good job weeding them out. Is not easy.

Also being up front about what a non paying membership limits you too. This should reduce people who join, then realise they have to pay to interact properly and then abandon their membership. I would feel duped as well thus not that motivated in properly closing my profile if I don't want to pay. Better to be honest and up front.

Goes to what is SH's value proposition: Is it yet another contact/swinging/dating site trying to compete on numbers, or is it focussed on real swingers who want to connect? Much prefer the latter - a smaller more active site delivers more than a false promise of big numbers with junk profiles.

I reckon abandoned threads in the forum should be deleted too.. say anything that hasn't been active for a few years... Oh hang on...

Eg: Clubx George St asking for hookups back far as 2010 now closed but years listed. Also scammers no problem listing profiles without payment

It would help retain members if people on this site actually met up. I think 99.9 % of people on here haven't ever left their house.

The thing is, there are literally hundreds of profiles that joined 6 years or longer ago, made no posts, put one pic on profile, and haven't been seen since. I doubt there would be anything that would have retained those profiles...

And if you have a look at "Encounters" after a few more recent profiles have come up, 99% of the rest are profiles that haven't been seen in 6 years..
