Looks like a nice day down at Windang Beach. Just passing through or visiting the area come and check it out. ?

we are thinking of visiting Windang tomorrow afternoon. Anyone going?

Who is 'we'?

I've been a few times recently, still only guys no couples.

anyone heading there today?

We went on New Year's Day but couldn't find anyone with their gear off.  Is it still a nudist beach?

Not officially

Was there today only seen a few

OK, thanks.  Does it tend to be at the North end, down the track from Boundary Road?

Yep, thats where the unofficial nude beach starts, all the way up north to the other track that leads up behind the golf course.

what time is normally good? and when you enter fro,  th caravan car park id it right there or you turn left and walk for a while??  very new to this

there is no "best time", just depends on people's own plans. If you go expecting it to be full of nude couples begging to be shagged by single guys then you will be very disappointed. If you go expecting to be able to nude bathe then you'll be fine

I had no idea Windang was an unofficial nude beach!
It'll be nice to sun bathe al naturale in my area.

Does anyone know of any dogging spots elsewhere in the Illawarra? I'm very new to this. I'm respectful and understanding of boundaries.

If anyone needs some company at Windang let me know, guys, girls, couples, great place to hang out, roadwarrior05.

hi

I didn’t know it was an unofficial nude beach. can we go nude in the surf as well? Or is it nude in the dunes only ?

Just be discrete, if the beach is empty then go in the surf, if families around then don’t.

My new wife and I are looking at visiting when the weather warms up. I’m not really sure where the best spot is tho. Is it the track that comes of boundary Rd? In the dunes?

Is it still ok to go nude there?

Yes. Park at car park at bottom. As you look towards the beach head left and you will find a track that brings you out on the beach next to a new seat bench. If you go right that's family area, if you go left towards Port Kembla beach that's more open. The dunes have plenty of good hiding spots.

Away from families yes. head up right towards port kembla and you'll start to see the meerkats smilein the dunes.

We had a look around yesterday but all the tracks are now covered with green growth… it was a hot hot day and we thought let’s check it out. Nobody around either

We parked in the car park at boundary rd. As you face the beach area we took the left side entrance with a sign saying Windang dunes. and just before the beach we turned left into the Sandy track. We could only walk for about 5 minutes until there was too much overgrown shrubs and greenery. We went to the beach and saw a couple walking their dog. She was in a bikini and looked very sexy. Smiled said hi etc. but they were leaving but think they were there for a the beach and dog only.

We entered back into the dunes walking towards port Kembla but the tracks stopped continuously due to the overgrown shrubs…

We’re we in the correct area? Because last year we could walk right through the track to more opened Sandy spots

Yes, Boundary Road/Perkins Road is best place to park. Don't recall seeing a sign though. Once you park up, walk along the car park spots north and go past Boundary Road and a used walking track is pretty obvious to follow. You then come to the beach path by the woods which has a No Dog sign etc and you walk through the woods almost in a zig zag and you come out at the top ridge overlooking the beach and dunes area. The dunes area, accessible last year because it was all burnt out, is very overgrown. You used to be able to walk along that track with a large sand ridge between you and the beach all the way towards Port Kembla beach, not so much now. Pretty much all the nude bathers find spots along that sand ridge, there are small paths down to bushy dune areas behind it but can be a bit scratchy. Best way is to take the path down to the beach, you know when you are at the right one as there is now a bench seat as you get onto the beach. Head left (north) and from about 100m onwards you may see people/their heads on top of the sand ridge. Most common spot is halfway towards Port Kembla where there is another path going back through the woods, the next 200m is most active area.

We walked along the top of the ridge and passed 2 tracks going back to the road. There were Sandy parts at intervals going into the area but only small and covered with overgrown shrubs… oh well sounds like next time we will have to try further north towards port Kembla

Give me a shout and I’ll show you where it’s all at, no obligations at all.
