it’s a hot day today and I’m thinking of visiting Windang but there doesn’t seem to be anyone around for fun

My new wife and I are looking at visiting when the weather warms up. I’m not really sure where the best spot is tho. Is it the track that comes of boundary Rd? In the dunes?
Yes. Park at car park at bottom. As you look towards the beach head left and you will find a track that brings you out on the beach next to a new seat bench. If you go right that's family area, if you go left towards Port Kembla beach that's more open. The dunes have plenty of good hiding spots.
We parked in the car park at boundary rd. As you face the beach area we took the left side entrance with a sign saying Windang dunes. and just before the beach we turned left into the Sandy track. We could only walk for about 5 minutes until there was too much overgrown shrubs and greenery. We went to the beach and saw a couple walking their dog. She was in a bikini and looked very sexy. Smiled said hi etc. but they were leaving but think they were there for a the beach and dog only.
We entered back into the dunes walking towards port Kembla but the tracks stopped continuously due to the overgrown shrubs…
We’re we in the correct area? Because last year we could walk right through the track to more opened Sandy spots
Yes, Boundary Road/Perkins Road is best place to park. Don't recall seeing a sign though. Once you park up, walk along the car park spots north and go past Boundary Road and a used walking track is pretty obvious to follow. You then come to the beach path by the woods which has a No Dog sign etc and you walk through the woods almost in a zig zag and you come out at the top ridge overlooking the beach and dunes area. The dunes area, accessible last year because it was all burnt out, is very overgrown. You used to be able to walk along that track with a large sand ridge between you and the beach all the way towards Port Kembla beach, not so much now. Pretty much all the nude bathers find spots along that sand ridge, there are small paths down to bushy dune areas behind it but can be a bit scratchy. Best way is to take the path down to the beach, you know when you are at the right one as there is now a bench seat as you get onto the beach. Head left (north) and from about 100m onwards you may see people/their heads on top of the sand ridge. Most common spot is halfway towards Port Kembla where there is another path going back through the woods, the next 200m is most active area.
We walked along the top of the ridge and passed 2 tracks going back to the road. There were Sandy parts at intervals going into the area but only small and covered with overgrown shrubs… oh well sounds like next time we will have to try further north towards port Kembla
