glad to hear it was open last night...what we loved about Tenny is just last min deciding to go there and being random, for us the fun was different people around all the time, the problem with arranged meets is too much can be expected and you have to go even if you want to change your mind at the last min for what ever reason..we always loved the variety of people that got there....like Forest Gump said...Tenny is like a box of chocolates,,,you never know what ya gonna get!
it closed at tonight council van came flashed his light and closed up .
not a good the comments of marrbell the fix of not knowing who was going to be there is half the fun(maybe not half-just a bit).
any suggestions anyone. is places like the snowdens beach on the port river or some of the other parks that way good.

rally funny..i went there fri night...got there 8pm the council kicked everyone out to the 2nd carpark...locked it up then stood by the landing telling everyone else they ll be locking up soon. all locked up by 845pm...they were holding hands too....lol
I went past Sat night one carpark was locked, the other was unlocked and still was when I left at 10:30pm. Maybe now they have moved most people on they will be a bit lax when the weather is warm. Time will tell
sometimes when the weather is warmer they leave the gate open maybe because they cant find all the people to clear them out and guess there genuine beach goers .
need to find another spot .its not reliable anymore
Any one looked at point malcolm by the surf club.
there is a platform and walkway by the dunes with benches along it plus some tree areas by the carpark .
also access from the surf carpark and also the other end of the park .
it seem plenty far away from the surf club evenif they have an event on maybe only the platform might be worth giving a miss by then .
otherwise i reckon we abandon the area for pooch park at findon
pooch parks no good... but port malcolm is good...big carpark ect......worth a try

they only realy light up the path and the carpark is reasonablly well hidden .

Tennyson was open for "business" well into the night on New Year's Day (still open at 2am). The council must be reluctant to chain up the carpark gates early on a hot summer's night as they wouldn't want to lock in the vehicles of any genuine beachgoers.
genuine beachgoers dont normally go there at midnite...i think youl find they couldnt be bothered waiting around to kick people out after 9 pm as this is what they do....might be a little diff on normal days aka not new years but as the council would say....the times are on the gate ...next thing prob will be...your responsibililty to be out by 9 or youll pay a fee or something dumb like that on behalf of the council.. you know the way they work...its all a money grab.
I saw one "genuine beachgoer" who was carrying a beach towel and got into his car well after midnight, but maybe the towel was a clever decoy just in case cops asked him what he was doing there that late! The council should install sensor-activated boom gates on each car park so cars that are in before 9pm can still get out after lock-out (just like at Thorndon Park).
it looks like malcolm res...just up the road from tenny may be the new place...esp on a fri night....looked like quite a bit of action there last night...a little landing on the beach front had two girls giving a very lucky guy a great show...and a bit near the surf club..not sure about sat nights...me think the club is all go
its actually quite funny if you read the sign on the gate it says .....gates are locked between 8 and 9.....so if thats the case souldnt they be open the rest of the time ,if they are locked between 8 and 9..dumb asses
Why don't people drive 200 mtrs or walk down to the other car park opp the rowing club and walk through to the dunes instead? Why let a bunch of do gooders spoil a great location! You can't beat the beech location and the fact everyone knows where it is.......

I heard there was a bit of action at Malcolm reserve from a friend and sounds like there may be more the same this weekend.

we know this thread is going on forever, but we thought for all the tenny fans here in SA we would give an update, we decided to stop in on our way home for a bit of random fun, it was about , and yes gates were locked..so we went up to the next car park (smaller one)which in the good ol days was always empty, how ever about 5 or so cars were there, guys walking back on forth from the beach, so we proceded to play around in the car, a couple pulled next to us with thier door open and watched us play in and out of the car, as it turns out they are from this site...a fun night at Tenny again!!...might just keep moving down the car parks, they cant close them all!!!!...lol

the gates were closed at tenny during the day as must of got pissed with the person who glued the locks up during the day

There is still the big unlit grasses area behind PP that is well hidden by trees but not table or benches
