I must say I have finally woken up to what a prick of a place the Dendy is.
I used to say good things about it to hopefully get more couples in there as it does have potential. The movies are good and there are no sticky beaking staff members. But that is where it ends I guess.
The people in this place have gotten progressively worse over time and this is why I now cant stand it. It is listed as a gay beat and really, 95% of the time all you see is gay guys sucking each other off and aggressively staring at other men. The chances of seeing couples does not justify going in there anymore to put up with the bullshit shenadigans of weirdos in there. When I started going there the people did seem better though and hence I thought it was quite good.
On Saturday night/Sunday morning I was out and about in the CBD and went to Crazyhorse Elizabeth Street adult cinema. It was my first time and there were a couple in there, and the lady wanked off her partner discreetly so I did not really see it too much. The people here were different to Dendy. It is not advertised on the internet as a gay beat and the people just sit there minding there own business. They have strippers getting up on stage, the peeps run till later than Dendy and I think there are a lot more couples who go to the cinema as heaps were stumbling in drunk to have a look at the place. Spoke to a regular bloke there who gave me a few times for regular couples coming in. He also went on about how the Dendy has turned into an absolute shithole.

I'm having similar issues with the Club X cinema in Sydney. Once upon a time it never happened but more and more these days just because I'm younger I get guys sitting near and staring at me and about to make some sort of move, when it's supposed to be a "straight" venue playing straight porn and couples friendly. And it's even more annoying when just two doors down at the Pleasure Chest they've got a dedicated gay backroom.
Couples rarely go there either these days and unless a couple posts an invite on here I won't be spending a great deal of time there like I used to. And when I do want some m/m action I go to places that offer it without the crap.

The cinema with the best potential is Thomastown! It's out of the way so harder for the idiots to get to! It's big! Clean and you can do what ever you like in there! Plenty of free parking and I have never been pressured in there!
Must say I agree with most of what has been said in this thread. Dendy has well and truly degenerated in recent times. Haven't seen a couple there for ages, the smell has got worse, and I feel more and more hassled by gay guys when I have been. In contrast I checked out the crazy horse for the first time in a while last night - much cleaner and better smelling, few guys there but no one hassling anyone, and a young couple came in for a while. They were there for a while but didn't play - got the feeling he was keen to play but she was nervous about it so they left. But it was great to see no one hassling them when they arrived, they just sat up the back on the seats on the side and were allowed to do their own thing. Then when they moved down into the main seats again no hassling. This is opposed to the vultures I have observed in the past that just pester any couple that might wander into a cinema. Would have topped the night off of this couple had played but so be it. But the crazy horse has my stamp of approval for sure
I think an opinion on the dendy is based on what you're looking for. I go to the dendy to get my cock sucked and once or twice to suck cock. I'm not put off by 'the starers' or guys sitting next to me and reaching over while I'm stroking my cock. Whether or not I let them play with me depends on the guy. I'm not into old or overweight guys. I prefer young asian guys. I've never had problems with any guy there once I've indicated I wasn't interested so for me it's great. They've replaced the carpet recently and fixed the chairs so it's much more comfortable.
