Yes i understand some countries, doing what they have done for years.
I dont agree with it being done, and thats from being raised in such a amzeing place.
My thoughts im sure would be different, if raised in one of the countries where this is performed.
I doubt it will stop all back yard jobs, but if it stops at least one. Then its done its job.
thats a contentious topic for sure
if they make it legal it will cut down on backyard jobs
but i dont think it should be done at all
but thats because like you Rose im lucky to have been brought up in a culture and society where its not good.
feel sorry for the poor girls.
If you ever want to see why it should be 'legalised' or performed here just look at some of the pictures and what they do in Africa and im pretty sure you'd be saying yes so fast its not funny.
If I recall correctly one of the big name celebrities has had it done but butcher style and alot of the African models because its the cultural norm.
Its sold as the female circumcision so its exactly the same as what the boys have done........ So just add to controversial comment to controversial topic - now lets see all the femanists line up to get it done so they're equal to the boys.
(Yes I know the argument they should have equal surgical rights etc)
I wonder how long the fine will last before someone argues it on the grounds of civil rights violation?
Of course, I must admit it would be pretty difficult to prove in court that someone was actually guilty of the crime.
^ Here's diagrams of genital mutilation....I don't know how a "surgical nick" would satisfy the cultural norms of taking away a girls potential to obtain sexual gratification from her genitals.
The money would be better spent in education and sufficient penalties to deter parents who want to succumb to this barbaric practice.
if it must be done by all means make sure its hospital grade and available with proper screening of parents to ensure its not something that will be regretted later.
That said im a pussy connoisseur so it got my gut churning to even consider it.
