Such a tragedy to see the passing of another innocent young man in Sydney after Daniel Christie has had his life support turned off yesterday......
im sick of the crap that goes on with these idiots, drugs and alcohol fueled problems need to be dropped on hard by all the legal system. if a certain club has a lot of problems or an area does, shut them down earlier and earlier until the trouble stops. why the hell do you need to drink at 3am, stop the service of alcohol at 12 or remove thier licences
I grew up in the country, there was one golden rule never hit or hurt a woman , if you got into a fight your mates stayed out unless it was obvious you had or were giving a hiding that would end in jail both groups of friends stood back and unless a weapon was involved you started it you finished it , These days would be heros who are tough when there mates will join the fight but cop calling little sooks when alone , If you sucker punched someone in a small country town your name would be shit if you hit a girl your mates would give you a hiding hasnt the standards of friends and society changed
Sadly much for the worse. I grew up in outer suburbs of Melbourne with the same standards and still hold to them today
well said okandq
i agree whole heartdly.
it would seem from your comments and dads there might be a generational thing at play
i think your right okandq
our generation were taught respect , and if we didnt give it , we ended up on our arses
problem now, is kids now dont have to show respect , government wont allow parents to smack kids .. or teachers to discipline the kids
its a sad , sad society we live in
I agree with shutting the venues down earlier and earlier. As a former doorman I salute the idea. The only problem with that is, if it's a licensed gaming venue, you're going to upset the pokie junkies and believe me they're just as bad if not worse than your alcohol fueled weekend hoons!
I always managed to reason with the younger ones even if well past wasted. Pokie player on the other, man you'd better just let them waste their money away, it's really not worth the hassle haha.
Over the 3-4 years I worked security at a variety of venues I only ever had to deal with 4 or so skirmishes and never once had to throw a punch. Compared to other guards... I'm proud of that statistic!
