In the chatrooms we have a way for people to create their own rooms. You can create a public room (open to everyone) or private rooms (open to only those you give the password to).
Those who open public rooms become a room host. All public user rooms are required to have a room host in them and the hosting priviledges can be passed onto another person when the original host leaves. Original room hosts can rejoin the room and they will remain room hosts within that room until the room closes.
If you want to be a room host then you need to adhere to a few extra rules.
You must ensure that EVERYONE in the room is adhering to the chatroom rules
The rules can be found here: Chatroom Rules
If you come across any trouble makers these are the steps you need to take.
1 - warn the offending member in whisper (you can also place a room warning if you wish)
if they continue:
2 - kick them from the room (click on the members name in the room list and select the kick icon)
if they come back and continue:
3 - notify a moderator to escalate the process (if none are around please place an abuse report with all details)
If any members are caught doing the following:
minors on cam, illegal substances on cam, soliciting or advertising a service, or threatening anyone,
You need to kick them from the room and notify a moderator or place an abuse report immediately.
YOU MUST NOT KICK ANYONE FROM THE ROOM UNLESS THEY HAVE BROKEN A CHATROOM RULE OR THE AUP
A few extra points
1 - When you leave a public room you have created, you must pass the key to someone else (click on the member name and click on the star icon).
2 - You cannot discriminate against anyone if they want to join a public room. If you want a room for couples only please put a password on it.
3 - If you want the room to be no directing then you must put NO DIRECTING in the title.
4 - You cannot force people to ask before whispering. Please ensure people know about the whisper options in the settings menu (spanner icon) if there are any issues.
Extra info on Couples Only Rooms (or any room that is made for a specific user)
1 - You can only create couples only (or similar) rooms and limit the members who join, if the room is passworded.
2 - If anyone joins the room who does not meet the room name specifications you cannot kick them. Ask them how they got the password and then ask them to leave, if they refuse to then please come see a moderator. If someone is giving out the password to others without permission then please come see a moderator.
3 - Please do not post the room password in a public room. This defeats the purpose of having a passworded room in the first place.
4 - There has been a suggestion made that those who wish to have passworded rooms for couples (or similar) that they set out the room name like this: Couples Room Please whisper for password. The user named in the room title can then sit in a public room as well as the private room and screen people who whisper them for the password, that will only work for those members who have extras.
have fun
